How do you choose the best podiatrist for you in Richmond, Va.?
Recently, our own Dr. Jeffrey Frost was recognized in the 2015 Best Bedside Manner Awards, presented by OurHealth Richmond magazine and CBS6. The award honors local medical providers for their kindness, empathy and attentiveness, based on votes by the local community. Congratulations to Dr. Frost, and to all the local medical providers honored, including fellow podiatrists Dr. James Shadbolt, Dr. David Weiss, and Dr. Allen Wax.
How important are awards in determining the best podiatrist for you?
Awards for quality care are one thing to consider, and The Foot & Ankle Center is honored to have won our share — but as much as we like being an award-winning practice, here are three other things you should look at as well, when choosing a foot doctor:
- Experience. How many years has the podiatrist been in practice? How frequently do they treat the condition you need help with? Are they experts in the latest technologies?
- On-site capabilities. Can the podiatry practice provide everything you need in one place, or will you have to go to other locations for some services? (The Foot & Ankle Center provides "all-in-one" foot care in our clinic, including physical therapy, a medical-grade nail spa, the latest laser therapy for treating pain and even a Joint Commission accredited surgical suite.)
- Reviews. Many patients begin their search for a doctor by checking reputable review sites such as Angie's List and RateMDs. We've posted links to a number of these sites on our Reviews page for your convenience, and invite you to check them out — and post a review of your own, if you're a patient of ours! We appreciate the honest feedback of our patients, and use your reviews to continually improve our service.
We are fortunate in the Richmond area to have so many great choices for healthcare, whether it be hospitals, outpatient centers or medical practices. With so many options, we hope these tips will help you choose the best podiatrist for you.
