On Nov. 13, 2014, Dr. Waskin and Dr. Frost officially opened the new, expanded Foot & Ankle Center by cutting the ribbon as staff members, Chesterfield County officials and members of the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce looked on. With twice the space and enhanced services, we now offer the area's largest, most comprehensive resource for total foot care under one roof!
Special guests at the ribbon cutting included Daniel Gecker, Midlothian District Supervisor, Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors; Will Davis, Director, Chesterfield County Economic Development; Reuben Waller, Chesterfield County Planning Commission and Danna Geisler, President, Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce.
As we open the new, expanded clinic and on-site medical-grade spa, we're also celebrating the 10th anniversary of The Foot & Ankle Center. Originally established in November 2004, patients find services at our clinic that they can't find at other podiatry clinics, such as a full time certified pedorthist (shoe-fitting expert), specialty shoes and foot care products, a medical-grade nail spa for hospital-clean manicures and pedicures, on-site diagnostic ultrasound, digital X-ray, and the only Joint Commission-accredited office-based surgical center for podiatry in the state.
The expansion has doubled our space. We now have nine new exam rooms, an expanded waiting area, expanded shoe fitting area, a designated casting room for orthotics, a physical therapy section and four new massage pedicure chairs in our on-site medical-grade nail spa. We've also added staff — with plans to add four more positions in the coming year, including a full-time physical therapist, a nurse practitioner to expand our diabetic foot care program, and a reconstructive surgeon.
