We have the region's first FDA-approved laser for treating toenail fungus right here in our office. Treatment is painless, requires NO anesthesia and takes only about 20 minutes to perform. Bunion Treatment

Our podiatrists have decades of experience treating bunions. The goal for bunion treatment is to relieve the pressure and pain caused by irritations, and to stop any progressive growth of the enlargement. Treatment options for bunions may include protective padding, carefully fitted footware, removal of corns and callouses, orthotics, exercises, splints or surgical treatment. 

 

On-site Diagnostic Ultrasound

We're on the cutting edge of using ultrasound, best known for its use in prenatal care, for precisely diagnosing foot and ankle problems. This technology allows us to look inside your foot and actually see how the foot moves -- without x-rays.
 

 

Heel Pain Service

Do your heels frequently hurt? You are not alone. Heel pain is prevalent among those who spend long periods standing and moving on hard surfaces or wearing non-supportive shoes. The Foot & Ankle Center offers a convenient, on-site program specifically for heel pain.
 

 

Diabetic Foot Care

The Foot & Ankle Center should be a vital member of every patient's diabetes care team. Our board-certified podiatrists are experts in the diagnosis, treatment and management of foot disorders caused by diabetes. 
 

 

Diabetes and Wound Care Service

Complications from diabetes are among the leading causes of foot and ankle wounds. In association with CJW Medical Center and other physician specialists, we provide an on-site wound care service. 
 

Comprehensive Diabetic Foot Exam

A comprehensive diabetic foot exam is much more detailed than a typical exam, and is designed to decrease diabetes-related amputations by preventing, or aggressively treating, foot problems. Our staff pedorthist, or footwear specialist, brings additional expertise to diabetic patients with foot deformities, and provides custom shoe and shoe insert solutions to protect a patient's feet from injury. 
 
 

 

Digital X-ray

Just as your digital camera allows you to see your vacation photos immediately, our digital x-ray equipment allows us to give you an immediate, precise diagnosis. And because the x-ray is digital, we can communicate electronically with the hospital when we need a radiology consultation.

 


Procedure Room

When surgery is the best treatment option, we can perform some surgical procedures directly in our clinic. The Foot & Ankle Center has Virginia's only JCAHO-accredited office-based surgical center for podiatry.

You know how frustrating it is when your doctor prescribes a special product and you're on your own to find it. Not any more. We have a wide array of foot care products right here in our clinic. You'll find a wide variety of specialty cushions, powerstep insoles, diabetic socks and shoes, and fungal ointments that are only available through physician offices. We also have the appropriate professionals to guide you in your purchase — including a certified pedorthist. A pedorthist, or shoe specialist, specializes in evaluating and measuring your feet to prescribe shoes and insoles that are comfortable and fit properly.
