Each spring, Richmonders snatch up the “Top Docs” edition of Richmond Magazine to see who made the list. We were honored to see that our own Dr. Mitchell Waskin made the list of Richmond’s top podiatrists, again! This is the eighth year the Foot & Ankle Center has made the Top Docs list. Congratulations to Dr. Waskin, and to all the other podiatrists who made the list.
Richmond is certainly fortunate to have so many excellent options for healthcare, including podiatry. With so many good choices, how do you choose the best foot doctor? Certainly, awards such as Richmond Magazine’s Top Docs are one way to gauge a healthcare provider’s reputation. Online reviews, such as HealthGrades and Google are another way, as are referrals from family, friends and your primary care physician.
Of course, you'll also want to look at each practice’s capabilities. If you’re seeking treatment for a foot problem, can the doctor provide all (or at least most) of the services you'll need under one roof, or will you have to go one place for your diagnosis and treatment, and then another place for physical therapy, and another place for custom orthotics or specialty nail care?
