Dr. Robert Pica
Dr. Robert Pica is a triple board-certified podiatrist specializing in foot and ankle surgery, wound care, and limb preservation. He earned his bachelor's degree in Biology from Millikin University before receiving his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago. He then completed a three-year surgical residency at The Christ Hospital Health Network in Cincinnati, where he received extensive training in the medical and surgical treatment of complex foot and ankle conditions serving as Chief Resident.
Dr. Pica provides comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of foot and ankle disorders, including fractures and trauma, arthritis, deformities, sports injuries, diabetic foot complications, and limb preservation. He has a special interest in advanced wound care, minimally invasive surgery, and helping patients avoid amputation through early intervention and evidence-based treatment.
Dr. Pica is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, and the American Board of Wound Management. He is also a Certified Wound Specialist.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Pica serves as Teaching Faculty for Treace Medical Concepts, where he trains fellow surgeons in advanced bunion correction and minimally invasive foot and ankle surgical techniques. He also serves as a Lead Investigator for clinical research, overseeing studies that advance the treatment of foot and ankle disorders, wound healing, and critical limb ischemia. His commitment to education and research allows him to bring the latest evidence-based techniques and technology to his patients.
Dr. Pica is affiliated with CJW Medical Center, including Chippenham Hospital and Johnston-Willis Hospital, as well as St. Francis Medical Center.
